Central license file store

In larger environments with many users of the Packaging PowerBench and several packaging computers, it is possible to store the license file at a central location in the network and have the decentralized installations reference this central location. To do this, simply specify the path to the license file in the registry of the computers on which it is installed. In the key HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SOFTWARE\NWC Services GmbH\NWC Packaging PowerBench a string value named LicensePath must be created.

The path to the license file is entered here, whereby UNC paths are also permitted. Optionally, the file name can also be specified if, for whatever reason, the license file does not have the default name PackagingPowerBench.exe.lic.

Additionally, by specifying the LicensePath value in the HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SOFTWARE\NWC Services GmbH\PowerShell Package Deployment API key, a runtime license could also be stored centrally instead of in the respective package directory.

Note: Central storage of runtime license files is not recommended because scripts created with different major versions of the PPB require different runtime licenses and with a central license file some of the packages might not be executable.
